UPDATE ON IPP PROTEST
IPP Committee In Action would like to thank all the families and supporters of the IPP Campaign that attended the IPP protest to Downing St and Parliament on the 27th of April. The event was very successful in bringing the general public together who had never heard of the IPP sentence and wanted to learn more. Thank you to those that lobbied their MPs of which a lot of positivity came from that event. Including MPs offering to work together and help the campaign.
Thankyou to Sangita Lal a jounalist for ITV news for getting a news piece onto ITV news at 10 two nights in a row, and getting top ratings for them news peices.
And also a thank you to Media Diversity who have helped us since January in getting the stories of IPP prisoners out there, and those who have been wronged by the MOJ in having false files put on their dossiers, in turn keeping them from progressing to release. A massive injustice was uncovered here.
IPP Committee in Action will be organising another protest in the near future.
We have a Joint letter signed by almost 100 signirtories including Phsychiatrist, Phychologist, Researchers, Doctors, and organisations that have ties to the criminal justice system, of which we plan to hand to the Justice Minister when the time is right.
We look forward to meeting families friends and supporters at the next protest, details yet to be announced in the coming weeks.
Once again a massive thank you to all, we could not do this without your help.
