Our Campaign

We organise petitions and protests in support of our campaign and are bringing more people on board who would otherwise have no awareness of the IPP sentence.

We support IPPs, their voice has been silenced. We are their voice and we are lifting that silence.

Join us in our Protest/ March on Wednesday the 19th of October 2022. We are protesting to push the MOJ and Government to urgently implement the Justice Committee’s recommendations ( published on 28/09/2022) to resentence IPPs. Let's get these IPPs home and put a final end to the IPP sentence.

IPP Committee In Action lobbied The Rt Honorable John McDonnell MP for Hayes and Harlington in Parliament. He agreed with his constituent Marie Cavanaugh who is part of the committee to table an Early Day Motion (EDM) which he did on the 5th of September asking for all IPP prisoners to be Resentenced.

We urge all IPP prisoners, their families, and supporters of the IPP campaign to write to your MP and ask them to sign this EDM 352. It’s more pressure to put on the government for change to the IPP sentence. We all know that to Resentence all IPP prisoners is the only fair and safe option to deal with this crisis.

So please contact your MP and ask them to support the EDM 352 by John McDonnell MP and sign.

IPP Letter from 100 public figures

Petition:

Resentence all IPPs.

The current system has led to prolonged detention beyond initial tariffs, subjecting individuals to what we regard as psychological torture and exacerbating mental health crises.

The IPP continues to cause severe mental degradation. We believe this constitutes a violation of their human rights.

We implore the Government to make provision for the review of all cases, in a way which acknowledges the toll inflicted by prolonged detention and ensures fair, humane, and rehabilitative sentences. Action is needed to end this nightmare, affording all the dignity and rights they deserve.

Please sign the petition!

Provide for resentencing for everyone serving an indeterminate prison sentence
