IPP ALERT

Wayne Williams cant even remember if he was 16 or 17 years of age when he was sentenced to the Indeterminate sentence for public protection (IPP). His tariff was less than two years for getting into a fight. He has been inside for 17 years on this IPP sentence and has never been released. He was recently moved out of the prison hospital wing and into the prison population, Wayne's mental health is deteriorating and he has had all medication withdrawn.

He called me yesterday early evening and spoke how low he is feeling, he didnt have to tell me I could hear it in his low soft sad voice. Wayne says he hasn’t eaten for 13 days and has had no medication for his mental health illnesses, well it will be 14 days now. I explained that he has to eat to keep his strength up and if he didnt he is going to become very ill but because of his untreated mental health he is not listening to me. I have been a McKenzie friend to wayne for a long time now and I can tell he is becoming very ill.

I asked him if the doctor had been to see him, he replyed only the nurse today. I asked what did she say or do and Wayne said she told him if he dont eat he will be dead soon then she locked the cell door and went away.

This is a young man who has no close family and the only close one to him was his nan who passed away a while ago. Wayne hasnt had an easy life growing up in the care system. He sent me 15 pages of his life story and it would break the strongest persons heart to read.

I need your help! can I ask anyone reading this to write a card or a letter to Wayne and help pick him up, he needs to know that there are people out here that care about what happens to him. We can help him.

I dont want him to be the next victim of the IPP sentence.

In the meantime i’m emailing the Governor, Prisons Minister, Justice Minister, Some Lords and others. This young man could die, he is being neglected by HM Prisons and Probation Service as well as Mental Health Care. He is being failed massively.
